Shared and speedy shuttle services

If you’re travelling on a budget, consider a shared shuttle. This scheduled service will take you from the airport to either your accommodation (excluding private addresses) or a nearby drop-off point. Although a door-to-door service is not always guaranteed, you can save money on your transport costs by sharing with other passengers headed your way.

A similar service is available via premium shuttle. Again, you’ll save money by sharing with other passengers but the shuttle will only make up to four stops. It’s a good compromise between time and money.

Private vehicles

Pre-book a private car for up to three passengers and you’ll generally get a ‘meet and greet’ service in the arrivals hall or at the desk, before being whisked off to your accommodation. It’s a pricier than a shared shuttle but what you spend in money, you’ll gain back in time – perfect if you just want to hit the beach as soon as you land.

This personalised service also covers private addresses if you’ve booked accommodation other than a resort or hotel or are returning home to the UK. If you’ve booked a return service, your driver will pick you up on the day of your flight at a pre-arranged time.

Unlike taking a taxi, you won’t need to queue, and you won’t leave the car wondering if you’ve been ripped-off by the fare: by booking a private airport transfer in advance, your price is locked in, and you can work the cost into your budget before you even leave home.

For a touch of luxury, you can also choose a premium service, where you’ll travel in a Mercedes E/S class vehicle or similar.

Private minibus carriers and coaches

Travelling in a large group? Arrive at your destination together by pre-booking a minibus or coach airport transfer instead of splitting up across multiple vehicles. Both door-to-door services, your minibus or coach driver will generally meet you in the arrivals hall and, if you’ve booked the return trip, at your agreed pick-up location.

Disability access services

You’ll be able to find wheelchair-accessible airport transfers in many destinations, and each are equipped with either a rear tail lift or ramp, so you don’t have to get out of your wheelchair. As with all private transfers, your driver will meet you at the arrivals hall or at the desk and take you straight to your accommodation. They can also assist you in and out of the vehicle if needed.

If you have a collapsible wheelchair and can get in and out unassisted, you may want to book a standard private transfer or shuttle service. If this is the case, email HolidayTaxis before your trip so they can advise the local supplier.

How does my airport transfer work?

The price of your booking includes either one-way or return airport transfers, luggage, tips and tolls.

Once you’ve compared your options and have booked your transfer, you will be emailed a voucher with your booking details. These include instructions on how to confirm shuttle transfers pick-up times or the time of your private booking, as well as where to meet your driver and their details. Your transfer back to the airport is automatically calculated to get you there two-and-a-half hours before your flight.

Print a copy of your voucher or keep the electronic version close to hand – you’ll need this on the day, or you may be refused service.

Can I amend or cancel my booking?

Yes, Covid-19 uncertainty means you can now amend your booking fee-free – or cancel for a full refund. Just head over the ‘My Orders’ page on the HolidayTaxis website to make any changes.

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

You will be asked to include your flight details when booking your airport transfer. It is important that this is accurate so your flight can be monitored for any delays and your pick-up time can be adjusted automatically. In this case, you will not need to contact your transfer supplier.

If your flight is cancelled, you should get in touch with your supplier directly and as soon as possible to rearrange your booking. You’ll find the number on your voucher.

What do I need if travelling with an infant or child under 12?

If you’re travelling with little ones, you’ll need to arrange a car seat or booster seat. During the booking process, you will be asked to include the ages of any children, so the appropriate options are presented to you. In some destinations, a car seat will be free of charge; in others, you’ll need to pay an extra fee.

As many airlines allow at least one piece of equipment for infants to be brought along for free, you may want to bring your own car seat to avoid paying a fee. To confirm if a local supplier can accommodate this, head over to the ‘My Orders’ page or get in touch with HolidayTaxis via their website chat.

Be aware that this option is not available on shuttle or minibus services, and you will usually need to fit the seat to the car yourself.
