Venice airport transfers

As soon as you land in Venice, start your holiday in style by side-stepping the crowds and hopping into your pre-booked airport transfer.

Served by two airports, Venice Marco Polo (VCE) and Venice Treviso (TSF), the cultural city of Venice is easy to reach from the UK. Venice Marco Polo is the closer of the two airports, being less than 10 miles north of the city, while Venice Treviso is around 25 miles north of Venice’s centre. You can reach the city by road in around 20 minutes from Marco Polo or 40 minutes from Treviso. Alternatively, embrace your surroundings and opt to travel on the water for at least some of the journey.

Public transport options from the airports include buses, a bus then a train, water-buses and taxis. However, you can swap the hassle of complicated timetables and headaches around haggling for taxi prices by booking an airport transfer. Options at the airports include shuttles, private vehicles and water taxis.

If price is a priority, consider a cost-effective shuttle service, which you’ll share with other passengers, but you’ll still be dropped as close to your door as possible.

Bear in mind that Venice’s centre is car free, with Piazzale Roma at the entrance to the city being the likely drop off point for most transfers. Of course, there are water taxis that offer more direct access to hotels, so be sure to check if this is a part of your transfer service.

Alternatively, you may have to book your own private water taxi for at least some of the journey. The service may not be cheap, but think about whether the cost is worth it for the precious time and effort you’ll save.

Travelling like an A-lister doesn’t have to come with a huge bill, either. The joy of pre-booked transfers is that you can compare all of the options side-by-side in your own time before you set off. You won’t be pressured and won’t feel like you’ve been ripped off due to an unknown charge or unfamiliar currency.
