Corfu airport transfers

When you land in sunny Corfu, get straight into the holiday mood by being whisked to your accommodation in your pre-booked airport transfer.

Corfu International Airport (CFU), also known as Ioannis Kapodistrias, is less than two miles from the island’s capital, Corfu Town, with the journey by road to its centre taking less than 10 minutes. It’s around an hour’s drive from the airport to the beach resorts of Sidari, San Stefanos and Roda on the north coast, and a little more than an hour’s drive to Kavos in the south.

You can get buses from the airport to Corfu Town and then connecting buses to most big destinations on the island. But, if you’re looking to relax, swap trawling through confusing timetables and lugging your suitcases on and off buses for a stress-free private transfer. Many buses on the island also stop running fairly early in the evening so, with a transfer, you won’t have to panic should your evening flight be delayed.

Taxis are another option from the airport, but by booking a transfer in advance, you’ll be able to skip the taxi queue. Plus, you will know exactly what you’re paying, avoiding any sneaky extra charges such as those for luggage.

A private transfer is likely to be slightly more expensive than the bus but it will also be a faster and more convenient way to get to your accommodation. For parents who have children and numerous bags to lug around, or sun-worshippers who can’t wait to hit the beach, the ease and speed of a private transfer, which will drop you off at your door, is well worth the price. And, if you shop around in advance using a comparison service such as TravelSupermarket, you may just find a cheap deal.

Transfer options from Corfu International Airport include shuttle transfers, private minibuses and private vehicles. Shuttle transfers are a good option if price is a priority, but be aware that they will probably take longer than private transfers as they will be dropping other passengers off too.

It’s worth comparing all of your options in advance so you’re comfortable you’ve got the best deal for you. Then, all you have to worry about when you step off the plane is where your sunglasses are.
