It takes about eight-and-a-half to nine hours to reach Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) on direct flights from the UK, so you won’t want to waste a minute getting to your hotel. Luckily, the airport is well connected to central Chicago.
Hop on a train for a couple of dollars per person to reach central Chicago in 20 minutes. Or take the Bus-n-Fly service for just $1.75 each way. An average cab fare from O'Hare to downtown Chicago is $30-40.
Alternatively, pre-book car hire and collect your vehicle upon arrival. Car hire is ideal if you plan to see more than just Chicago city centre (the famed Route 66 starts here too).
