Sun-drenched California offers something for every type of holidaymaker, whether it's relaxing on golden beaches, hiking through spectacular scenery, skiing in the mountains, touring popular sights or enjoying a spot of retail therapy. The list is endless - and it's all waiting for you...

Experience California dreamin' when you jet into this wonderful state. With its numerous attractions, natural beauty and fantastic climate, holidays here are hard to beat...

There are many fabulous destinations for you to explore in California, but the main gateways from the UK are Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and San Diego (SAN).

Visit LA to rub shoulders with the stars and see the iconic Hollywood sign that resides proudly in the hills. Take a walk down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, have your Julia Roberts moment on Rodeo Drive, and spend time on eccentric Venice Beach, where just people watching will be entertainment enough.

But there is much more to LA than glitz and glamour. There are several theatres and museums such as the Getty Centre, as well as a vibrant gallery and music scene. Other attractions include the Griffith Observatory and, of course, Disneyland - a dream destination for many children and adults! LA also offers easy access to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe and the Central Valley for its many wineries.

San Francisco is another part of California that offers plenty to see and do. Admire the Golden Gate Bridge, visit historic Alcatraz Island, and take a ride on the city's iconic cable cars. A trip out to Napa wine country will allow you to experience beautiful countryside - and a tipple or two! Santa Barbara and Orange County should also be on your list of places to see while in San Francisco.

A must-see attraction if you opt to visit San Diego is its famous zoo, and it is also home to other wildlife attractions such as SeaWorld and Zoo Safari Park. You can also enjoy relaxing on miles of beautiful beaches, visit Balboa Park, which is home to museums, performing arts venues and gardens, or get the plastic out at the great outdoor shopping malls.
