- Kefalonia’s road system is fairly uncomplicated and well signposted (both in English and in Greek), so in theory it should be easy to navigate. Unfortunately, however, signs are occasionally obscured by overgrown bushes or are otherwise difficult to spot, so it could be worth paying extra for a satnav.
- Before leaving Kefalonia by car ferry, don’t forget to confirm that your car hire insurance extends to other islands.
- Many of Kefalonia’s roads, particularly in the centre and north of the island, are steep and so can prove extra slippery on those rare, rainy days. Exercise special caution in wet weather.
