Transport options out of Ibiza Airport vary drastically between peak and off-peak seasons. Avoid the confusion and opt for convenience with an airport transfer instead.

Although Ibiza has ample public transport options from its major airports, you can’t beat the simplicity and ease of an airport transfer; they’ll get you to your hotel quicker, are easy to book and you won’t be much more out of pocket for the convenience. Why worry about timetables and ticket machines when you could be on the beach instead?

While buses run to Ibiza Town year-round, a private transfer can cut your travel time in half, getting you to your accommodation in around 15 minutes. You can also shave a few pounds off the price by securing a spot on a cheaper airport shuttle – remember to compare your options with TravelSupermarket for the cheapest price.

Those heading to San Antonio on the west coast can expect at least a 40-minute public bus ride from the airport between June and mid-October. This route, number 9, is not available outside of this period, but private transfers can get you to your door year-round in around 20 minutes.

Travellers heading east to Santa Eulalia del Rio or Cala Nova between mid-May and mid-October will spend around 40 minutes to just over an hour on a public bus. Again this route, number 24, doesn’t operate outside this period, but a private transfer or minibus will take around 20 minutes to half an hour no matter when you travel.

Airport transfers to Ibiza’s further-flung resorts, such as the northern tip of the island, are even more convenient, consistently halving travel times when compared to public transport.

Though taxis can be a reliable alterative, queuing times can be unpredictable and if you’re travelling as a larger group, you may need to fork out the cash for two cars. This is where airport transfers come in. By pre-booking your transport, you’ll be able to waltz off the plane, bypass the queues and the haggling and be on the road no time.
