Get your Tenerife holiday started as soon as you touch down at one of Tenerife’s two airports with a quick and easy airport transfer.

The largest Canary Island is holiday royalty – Brits have been soaking up Tenerife’s winning combo of cheap sun, sea and sand since the 70s.

Both of the island’s airports are served by public transport, but the fastest and most convenient way to get to your hotel is by airport transfer. Down on the island’s southern tip, the trinity of Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje and Playa de las Americas draw the lion’s share of summer tourists. While up in the rugged north, Puerto de la Cruz, Garachico and Punta del Hidalgo are among the most popular hotspots.

From Tenerife South (TFS), you could be in Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos in around 20 minutes, while public transport can take over an hour. Landing in Tenerife North (TFN), and a transfer to the popular resorts of the south will take around an hour – double it on public transport.

Meanwhile, a transfer will have you in Puerto de la Cruz in the north-west in just over an hour if you’re landing at Tenerife South. On the island’s northern tip, the more remote resorts, such as Punta del Hidalgo and San Andres, can take 50 minutes from Tenerife South and 30 minutes from the North.

In terms of time, public transport is generally double that of a transfer – of course, these times don’t take into account the hassle of finding the right bus, getting your tickets and locating your hotel once you arrive at the resort.

If you’re looking for a cheaper but equally stress-free option, a shared shuttle service could be just what you’re after. You could knock even more off the price by checking TravelSupermarket’s directory of companies offering airport transfers in Tenerife.

Wherever you happen to be staying, you can pretty much guarantee a smooth and comfortable transfer. Tenerife’s main roads are well looked-after and major artery the TF-1 loops a semi-circuit around the island, connecting both airports to the more popular resort areas.
