Enjoy door-to-door service when you travel to your Gran Canaria resort via airport transfer. The beach is waiting!
After a four-hour flight to Gran Canaria, you’ll want nothing more than to ditch the bags and nab a sunlounger by the sea. Too bad public transport on the island can take up to an hour and a half to get you to your resort – and that’s before you account for the time it takes to fuss over bus tickets and queue with the crowds at the airport.
If it all sounds like too much to bother with – you’re on holiday after all – there’s an easy solution that will get you to the beach in no time: airport transfers.
Airport transfers are by far the quickest and most convenient way to get from Gran Canaria Airport to your resort. Consider hip Maspalomas on the south of the island. It may be cheap, but a public bus from the airport can take up to an hour to drop you in town. The drive to your door can be as little as 20 minutes. Nearby Meloneras is around 25 minutes away with an airport transfer. By public bus, this trip can take over an hour.
For those heading to the aptly named British favourite, Playa del Ingles, airport transfers can shave off more than half your time on the road. A public bus can take anywhere between 40 minutes to an hour. Hitting the road by airport transfer, on the other hand, takes around 20 minutes. Similarly, getting to the capital of Las Palmas will take about 35 minutes by public bus and around 20 by transfer.
But private transfers really come into their own with off-the-beaten-path destinations in Gran Canaria. There’s no need to bother with multiple buses to the north west of the island when an airport transfer can get you there in a jiffy.
Concerned about the cost? Then a cheaper airport shuttle may be for you. It’s the happy medium between public transport and private transfers and is the fraction of the cost of a taxi. Plus, when you compare with TravelSupermarket, you can rest easy knowing you’ve got a great deal.
