The largest of these is Balkan Air, which flies from 17 departure points in the UK including London's Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham. The number 15 bus to Bourgas departs regularly from the airport. It runs from the early hours until late at night. At the bus station in Bourgas you can catch a bus to your resort destination. Buses to Sunny Beach and Nessbar run regularly, though it can take up to 90 minutes to reach Sunny Beach. It costs around £1.50 one way.
Taxis are readily available at the airport and the journey into Bourgas is short and good value. It takes around half an hour to reach Sunny Beach via taxi and should cost no more than £20 (50 Bulgarian Lev).
Car hire in Bourgas is also excellent value and the road network is good. Picking up your hire car at the airport will save on the cost of transfers to your destination, plus you'll have the advantage of sightseeing at your own pace.
