Find flights to Corsica with TravelSupermarket and prepare to leave a little bit of your heart on this magical island...
Sitting to the north of the island of Sardinia and within sailing distance of the French Riviera and the thigh of Italy, the island of Corsica is a pleasure for the senses. The sweet scent of the pine trees that line the beach, the feel of sand as soft as icing sugar between your bare toes, the taste of French cuisine with a Corsican twist, the sound of yacht masts gossiping in the harbours, and the sight of sheer cliffs that plummet towards turquoise seas: all this and more will be etched on your mind after a Corsica holiday.
Of the half a dozen airports on the island, three welcome flights to Corsica from the UK.
Arrive at Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport (AJA) to enjoy holidays in Ajaccio, the largest urban area on Corsica. Located on the west coast of the island, the city sprawls around a wide bay, where passengers pour out of cruise ships to stroll the typically Mediterranean streets in the shade of palm trees. The airport is also handy for visitors arriving for breaks in medieval Bonifacio and the beaches of Porto Vecchio, both of which are in the south of Corsica.
Calvi - Sainte-Catherine Airport (CLY) is a short distance from the northern city of Calvi, which is one of the most popular holiday hotspots on the island.
Also in the north of Corsica is Bastia - Poretta Airport (BIA), which is well located for access to the historic port city of Bastia. Break away from the city and journey towards the finger of land known as Cap Corse, where you'll find empty beaches among the nature reserves, hills and wineries.
Though direct flights are less frequent during the cooler winter months, you can find cheap flights to Corsica for departures throughout the year when you search for deals on TravelSupermarket.
The bulk of services to the island from the UK operate in the summer months, with flights taking around two hours...
Easyjet has flights into Bastia and Ajaccio from Gatwick. There's a Bastia service from Manchester.
There are also connecting services via Paris or Nice with Air France. Note that, if connecting via Paris, you may need to switch airports in Paris from Charles de Gaulle to Orly.
Several charter companies offer services from Heathrow, Manchester, Stansted and Bristol on a seasonal summer basis to Calvi, Figari or Bastia.
Here are the best options for travelling between Corsica's airports and your destination...
Public transportation is limited in Corsica; the bus services that do run do so infrequently. Airport buses operate between the terminals and most of the main holiday destinations, though they can be pricey. It can be just as cheap to pick up a taxi outside of the terminal building and be taken straight to the door of your hotel.
Car hire in Corsica is an excellent idea. You can collect your vehicle at the airport, saving on transfer costs, and then use it to get around the island and see the highlights.

From pretty villages and beach resorts to cities by the sea, each option for a Corsica stay is as appealing as the last. While hotel prices can seem high compared to those in mainland France, you can find deals if you book well in advance. So where will you stay?
Ajaccio is a rambling mass of life on the west coast of the island. The birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, Ajaccio is an attractive holiday destination and ideal for city breaks.
Bonfacio is a two-hour journey south of Ajaccio. This place bubbles with ancient charms and cream-coloured homes perch on chalky cliffs. Porto Vecchio is also in the south. It's a lovely harbour city and home to one of the best beaches in Corsica - picture-perfect Palombaggia Beach.
The cities of the north - Calvi and Bastia - are equally charming and perfect for short breaks. Beach hotels can be found close to the outskirts of the cities, so you can choose which kind of view you want from your bedroom.
