Just half an hour from the south-east corner of Lake Garda, Verona is by far the most popular arrival point for travellers to Lake Garda. The city is home to two airports – Valerio Catullo (VRN) airport, also known as Verona Villafranca, and Verona Brescia (VBS) airport.
Valerio Catullo is double the size of its younger sibling, but Ryanair now runs some incredibly cheap flights to Lake Garda into Verona Brescia from London Stansted (STN), so keep your eyes peeled for deals.
Finding a flight deal to Lake Garda from London is a piece of cake. British Airways and easyJet operate direct flights to Verona Valerio Catullo from London Gatwick (LGW) once or twice per day.
The cheapest flights to Lake Garda are often run by easyJet, although you can bag some brilliant bargains with other airlines if you book well in advance. There are currently no direct flights to Verona from London Heathrow (LHR).
Don’t fret if it’s a pain for you to get to the Big Smoke – there are plenty of flights to Lake Garda via Verona Valerio Catullo from elsewhere in the UK.
Flybe operates cheap flights to Verona from Manchester (MAN), while Ryanair offers flights from Birmingham (BHX), Jet2 flies directly to Verona from Edinburgh (EDI) and Meridiana offers direct flights from Belfast International (BFS).
Willing to go the extra mile to cut costs? Try flying into Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) instead of Verona. The transfer might take a little longer, but some of the cheapest flights to Lake Garda arrive here. If you’re in no rush, it’s moneysaving magic.
Ryanair currently runs flights to Lake Garda via Milan Bergamo from Bristol (BRS), East Midlands (EMA), Edinburgh, London Stansted and Manchester, most of which are cheap as chips, especially when booked ahead. Ryanair also operates direct flights from Milan Bergamo to Dublin (DUB), Cork (ORK) and Knock (NOC).
