Three Kings; January: Spend Christmas or New Year in Playa de las Americas to see one of the most charming aspects of the festive season on the island. The “Three Kings” parade through towns and villages and bestow gifts on children to mark January 5, a sort of Christmas Eve in these parts.

Carnaval; February/March: This is heralded as the biggest carnival in all of the Canary Islands. Santa Cruz is where you'll see processions of outrageous costumes and everybody having a really good time.

Arona Summer Festival; August: This yearly feast of dance music attracts large crowds. It's in the peak summer season, so hotels are unlikely to be any busier than normal at this hugely popular holiday time.
