International Fair of Nations; April/May: Fuengirola shows its cosmopolitan and welcoming attitude with this show of international tastes, crafts and sights at the fairground. Dozens of stalls are manned by a team from different countries - take a tour of the world when you visit in late spring.

St John's Day; June: Also known as the La Fiesta de San Juan, the locals mark Midsummer with bonfires and late-night dips in the sea, supposedly to send any evil spirits scurrying away. A terrific party atmosphere keeps the beaches lively all evening.

Fuengirola Fair; October: Traditional dress, horse shows, bars, tasty food... you can find them all at this annual event, which features a huge fairground.
