You can find a range of great value deals on Epsom car hire with TravelSupermarket...
Located a little over 10 miles from London, the market town of Epsom is in the county of Surrey. Epsom Downs Racecourse is on the southern edge of town and is the famous host of the Epsom Derby, which takes place every year in June. Epsom also lends its name to magnesium sulphate, more commonly known as Epsom salt, which was produced from the spring waters that rose from the North Downs.
These two things, of course, have very little bearing on day-to-day life in this pleasant town. It's a popular commuter town, being just 45 minutes via public transport to the heart of the capital, though it has a thriving sense of community and offers a good range of restaurants, pubs, cafés, shops and parks. The cultural scene is also lively, with the Epsom Playhouse hosting regular performances. Bourne Hall Museum is a fascinating place to spend some time; exhibits include a 19th century fire engine, artefacts from the races, some Roman finds and an antiquated hansom cab in which former British Prime Minister, Lord Rosebery, would travel between Epsom and the capital - it would have been quite the journey in the 1890s.
Hobbledown, on the northern edge of Epsom, keeps families entertained whatever the weather. There are indoor and outdoor play areas, plus animals to see and pet.
Keep your eye on the programme of events at Epsom Downs Racecourse too. As well as horse racing, the venue welcomes music fans to a variety of concerts.

When you book car rental, Epsom can be used as a springboard to dive into nearby attractions...
Seeing the capital is easy from Epsom as trains run throughout the day. It takes just over 40 minutes to drive into central London - the same journey duration as the train - though car parking is at a premium in the heart of the city. However you decide to arrive, be sure to see attractions such as the Natural History Museum, London Zoo, Covent Garden and Buckingham Palace, go shopping in world-famous department stores, or simply relax alongside the River Thames or in one of the many glorious open spaces, such as Hyde Park.
There is much to see around Epsom however, so don't forget to tour this surprisingly green part of the country that is so close to the urban buzz of London.
Hampton Court Palace is a 20-minute drive north of Epsom. This incredible building is a sight to behold and tales of England's infamous husband of six wives, King Henry VIII, bounce around the walls here. It's impossible not to be captivated by the tangled web that was his love life, much of which was played out at Hampton Court.
For a breath of fresh air, pull on some comfortable shoes and make for the Surrey Hills. You can reach lovely Box Hill in around 20 minutes by road from Epsom, while its tallest peak, Leith Hill, is a 35-minute drive away.
If you are travelling with children, here are two excellent reasons to book car rental in Epsom: Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park. Chessington is only 10 minutes from Epsom when you take the car.
