This well-presented resort has everything anyone could need for the ideal Greek holiday...
This once quiet fishing village in the north of Corfu began to take shape as a destination three decades ago when its perfect beaches and warm, crystal seas began luring tourists. Now a bustling, modern resort, holidays in Sidari offer everything you could possibly need for that perfect sunshine break.
Bar and restaurants are spread across the lively seafront, offering everything from candlelit dinners to rocking music and cocktails. There are even a couple of discos to help keep the party going all night long.
Nights out often begin at the dinner table, and while there are restaurants of every persuasion it would be wrong not to sample the local tavernas. Nearly all tavernas in Sidari have menus that fuse modern and traditional Greek food, so make sure you look at the specials board to see what delights the chef has created that day. Next stop should be one of one of Sidari's dynamic bars, followed by one of the resort's karaoke bars or clubs. Then it's back to your hotel to recover for another day.
Not that Sidari holidays are short on peace and quiet, however. There are parts of this sun-kissed resort where the only sound to disturb your beach slumber is the occasional lollop of the Ionian Sea. Private villas and bungalows a few streets back from the front are a good choice if you're travelling as a group and want a quieter time. But there is also an excellent range of hotels and apartments to choose from.
Sidari also has a wealth of souvenir shopping opportunities – it may be a modern resort, but it's also home to some wonderfully old-fashioned shops selling splendid local arts and crafts.

As with most Greek islands, things tend to shut down over winter, but the place comes alive for the rest of the year...
Sidari enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate but, as it is the northernmost resort in the most northerly Greek island, winters can be cooler and wetter than on islands to the south. Summers, however, are just as dry, hot and long as on any Greek island, with the mercury regularly hitting 30C during the daytime before settling down to around 20C overnight.
If you’re looking for a bargain, search at the start and end of the season to find cheap holidays to Sidari.
