Seattle is the capital of the US Pacific north-west and, whether you’re enjoying a coffee at the birthplace of the modern coffeehouse revolution or an exhilarating adventure in Mount Rainier National Park, it's a city that will thrill as much as enlighten.
Within the city centre, major attractions include the Experience Music Project, an interactive rock-and-roll museum which also serves as a music venue. Outside of the city, the Future of Flight Aviation Tour can be reached easily by car.
Things to do in the city include sampling the extensive local cuisine. Seattle has it all from sushi to French, and there is a strong trend towards using locally produced, organic food. After eating, you could head to Pioneer Square, the historic district, which is also home to the best bars and clubs of the city.
Other activities include skiing, walking and mountain climbing at nearby Mount Rainier National Park. Alternatively, try to find one of the many vantage points across the city, such as the Space Needle Observation Point, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
