Situated on the eastern edge of Bulgaria, where the land meets the Black Sea, the port city of Bourgas has everything you could need from a holiday resort. You'll find a lovely long golden beach, a handful of good hotels, a fun and friendly nightlife scene and many places to eat and drink. The city, also known as Burgas, basks in long hours of sunlight during the summer and hot days are filled with either relaxation or recreation on the pleasant sands. Prices here are very low, especially when compared to established beach resorts in countries such as Spain, France, Turkey and Greece. The lakes around Bourgas also lure visitors to the area, as the watery vista provides the perfect habitat for birds and the ideal twitching spot for birdwatchers.
Many holidaymakers, however, are drawn to the Bourgas region for the coastal resorts of Sunny Beach Resort, Nessebar, Sveti Vlas, Elenite, Sozopol and Pomorie. These diverse and beautiful coastal resorts are no more than a 45-minute drive from Bourgas. It takes around three and a half hours to fly into Bourgas Airport (BOJ) from most UK airports.
Sunny Beach Resort is by far the most popular of these nearby holiday hotspots. Mile upon mile of soft and clean sandy beaches attract sun-seeking families, while party lovers simply jump to the Sunny Beach beat when the sun sets and brings the day to a close. The resort is known for cheap drinks and wild nights, while younger families love the friendly hotels, waterparks, and range of restaurants that dish up global cuisine as well as Bulgarian specialities.
Centuries-old Nessebar is an attractive resort that feels like an open-air museum thanks to an abundance of historic buildings. It's a peaceful spot, yet minutes from the clubs and bars of Sunny Beach Resort.
Whether you are after a cheap break or all-inclusive holidays to Bourgas and the surrounding areas, you can compare prices and book your next break when you search for Bourgas holidays with TravelSupermarket.
