Why go to Sunny Beach

If you've missed the buzz about Sunny Beach holidays then don't worry, it's not too late to find cheap holidays to Sunny Beach - Bulgaria's star resort and one of the best bargain breaks on the planet.

This resort has rocketed up the holiday hotspot hit list for plenty of reasons...

Firstly, there is the exceptional beach: wide, sandy and clean, it's the perfect spot to spend long days in the sunshine - of which there are plenty. Secondly, your money still stretches a long way in this part of Europe and that means bargain hotels, great value food and cheap drinks. Thirdly, but certainly not finally, is the nightlife. Sunny Beach has become something of a byword for hedonism in Bulgaria and young adults in particular love the “anything goes” attitude here. Families also flock to Sunny Beach for cheap beach breaks, as the resort is an affordable alternative to well-known Mediterranean destinations.

The modern resort of Sunny Beach is the most popular seaside destination on Bulgaria's Black Sea coastline. It's got all the necessary ingredients for a sun-baked holiday, yet prices have remained low despite its recent popularity on the package-break scene. Hotels here are of a good standard, with most offering large pools and family-friendly amenities.

Days in Sunny Beach are spent at the side of the pool or on the wonderful beach. You can claim loungers and parasols for a day on the sands, paying a small amount to local vendors, or simply lay your towel on a patch of sand and soak up the sun for free. There are small sand dunes at the back of the beach, which are perfect for games of hide and seek when little ones get tired of paddling in the waters. Older children and adults are spoilt for choice with a massive selection of watersports, which lure visitors and offer views of Sunny Beach from a number of new angles. Waterparks, mini golf and even a haunted house also offer amusement to kids of all ages.

When the sun sets, Sunny Beach comes to neon-lit life amid the restaurants, bars and clubs of the resort. There are plenty of places to relax and have a quiet drink if the wild party scene isn't to your taste.

*ATOL (Air Travel Organiser's Licence) is a financial protection scheme for package holidays: It provides support to consumers in the event their holiday provider collapses. Booking with an ATOL holder ensures that you won't be left out of pocket and you won't be left stranded abroad. All package holidays compared using TravelSupermarket are protected by ATOL.

ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) offers similar cover for packages booked with its members. However, while ATOL predominantly covers flight-based packages, ABTA covers non-flight based holidays (such as rail and cruise) and linked travel arrangements. If you are unsure whether or not your trip is covered by ABTA, check with your provider.
