Not heard of Pefkos? You will be glad to know that not many others have either, making this a peaceful haven away from the masses...
Pefkos is a small resort on the east coast of the island of Rhodes. Just up the road, you will find the donkeys, mosaic-laid floors and twinkling night vistas of Lindos that grace thousands of postcards. However, you will also find the swarms of visitors who tackle the steep slopes of Lindos to get a better view of the acropolis and the beautiful bays that punctuate the coastline around the village.
In Pefkos, life moves at a much slower pace. Also known as Pefki, this compact resort has everything you need for a splendid break under the powerful heat of the Greek sun. There’s an abundance of golden sand next to the clear and clean waters of the Aegean Sea, and just enough bars and restaurants to try a new place to dine and drink every evening, even if you stay for a fortnight. Pefkos holidays are ideal for relaxing by day, either at your hotel pool or by the sea, and spending the evening chatting and laughing over a superb dinner – with after-dinner drinks entirely optional in this laid-back resort.
Most holidays in Pefkos are taken on a self-catering basis. There are many excellent hotels and apartments, and most combine Greek charm with a host of great amenities such as swimming pools, pool bars and plenty of outdoor space. In Pefkos, all-inclusive holidays are not as popular as in other sunshine destinations, although some hotels offer stays with breakfast included or on a half-board basis.
Families, couples and groups come to love Pefkos within hours of arrival and the resort sees many return visitors, which is a testament to its old-world appeal and hospitality.

Medieval Rose Festival; May/June: During this festival, the medieval history of Rhodes Old Town is visited by knights, magicians, archers, dancers and stilt-walkers who conjure up the atmosphere of long ago. It takes an hour to drive from Pefkos to Rhodes Town (or take the bus), but it is worth it.
