Find flights to Almeria with TravelSupermarket and discover this lovely alternative to Spain's livelier Costas...
You'll find the city of Almeria where the blues of the Mediterranean Sea meet the burnt and arid landscapes of this part of south-east Spain. Trace your fingers along a map of the coastline in either direction; you'll brush across traditional villages and charming resorts, where thoughtful design has preserved the spirit of life before mass tourism arrived.
Take a flight to Almeria Airport (LEI) and you have the key to unlock this treasure trove of holiday destinations. It takes around three hours to fly here from UK airports, making a city break in Almeria itself an attractive proposition. Loaded with historic attractions, such as the incredible Alcazaba walled fort, plus Moorish architecture, shady parks and buzzing public squares, Almeria has much to offer to short-break visitors. Add this to the city beaches and the nearby Tabernas Desert, where movies have been shot, and you won't run out of things to do on a short visit.
Stay a little longer and get comfortable in one of the wonderful hotels populating the Costa Almeria. Popular Roquetas de Mar resort has everything required for a break in the sun. Mojacar Playa and Aguadulce are also well developed for tourism.
This Spanish hot spot benefits from direct flights from across the United Kingdom and a journey time of under three hours...

All sorts of accommodation, from spa hotels, quirky boutique properties and basic budget options, can be found dotted around Almeria's charming historic streets. Many have swimming pools - a particular advantage if you stay near the marina, in the western part of the city, where there are no beaches.
Roquetas de Mar is the most popular resort for holidaymakers on the Costa Almeria. It is certainly the most built up part of this coastline, though the skyline doesn't impose on the terrific scenery and sense of space. Here you'll find seemingly endless stretches of sand - you won't be rubbing shoulders with too many fellow sun-seekers in this part of Spain.
The homes of the mountain-top village Mojacar look like cubes of sugar sprinkled on the land. Mojacar Playa is the nearby tourist resort. Brilliant turquoise waters and vast pale sands attract visitors here. It's one of the country's most beautifully Spanish beach resorts.
