Monarch has the most flights to Almeria, departing from Manchester and Birmingham. easyJet flies to the city from London Gatwick and Stansted, as well as from the East Midlands. Thomson also flies from Birmingham and Manchester, as does Thomas Cook - which, in addition, has departures from Gatwick.
There are fewer direct flights from the UK to Almeria during winter but, with daytime temperatures rarely dropping below 15C and more bargain fares around, this can be a great time to visit. A public bus runs every one to two hours from the airport into the city of Almeria. It takes around 35 minutes to reach the central bus and railway station. From here you can catch a train or bus to destinations near and far.
Alternatively, take a taxi from the official rank at the airport. The meter will be used. An approximate fare for the 30-minute journey to Roquetas de Mar is €50 (around £40).
