If you’re looking to experience Ibiza’s famous nightlife, head south. If you rent a villa in San Antonio or Ibiza Town you’ll be close to all the action but able to escape it too (there’s nothing quite like recovering from a heavy night on a sun lounger by your private pool).
If you opt for Ibiza Town, the island’s dazzling capital, check out the UNESCO World Heritage Site Dalt Vila. Further south, you’ll find Playa D’en Bossa and its lovely beach.
Alternatively, if your holiday goals are geared more towards relaxation and a slower pace of life, then rent a villa in the north of the island. Less populated, more traditional and splendidly laidback, it’s a world away from the brash and bold south.
Options include relatively secluded spots near quiet villages like Sant Joan de Labritja and Santa Agnès de Corona, as well as Port de Sant Miguel. Formerly a fishing village, it’s now a small beach resort, great for watersports and snorkelling.
In the north east, lovely villas can be found near to Cala de Sant Vicent, Es Figueral, Cala de Boix and Cala Llenya – expect white sands, bohemian vibes and far fewer tourists.
A surprise to many, Ibiza is a great destination for a cheap family villa holiday – it’s just a matter of finding the right place to stay!
Santa Eulalia is always a good choice. Located on the east coast of the island, a particular highlight of this serene resort is Calle San Vicente, otherwise known as the Street of Restaurants.
To the south of Santa Eulalia, the mini-resort of Cala Llonga has plenty to keep families occupied, and it’s a similar story up north at Portinatx, where you can enjoy a classic beach break experience (and forested countryside to explore, too).
