We've crunched the numbers to reveal where your money will go further when it comes to beach bar beverages and overall holiday costs. Bottoms up!

The best destinations for budget-friendly beers

If you're a beer-lover, Egypt should be at the top of your list. At just £1.43 for a bottle of beer at a beach bar, it's the cheapest destination for a cold one. Close behind are the Dominican Republic (£1.98) and Antalya in Turkey (£2.08) – both great value for beer lovers.

If you prefer to stay closer to home, Malta’s got the best prices in the EU, with beach bar beers a reasonable £2.15. Popular Spanish destinations like the Costa del Sol, Majorca and Tenerife aren’t far behind with beers from £2.58, making them perfect options for budget-conscious travellers.

On the other end of the spectrum, Dubai takes the crown for the most expensive beach bar beer, with prices soaring to £9.62 per bottle. Corfu and the Algarve follow as the next most expensive, both at £4.30 per bottle.

Top spots for affordable prosecco and sparkling wine

Like your wine with bubbles? Head to the Costa del Sol or Costa Dorada in Spain, where you’ll find the cheapest glass of prosecco or local sparkling wine at just £3.01. Paphos in Cyprus comes in third at £3.87 per glass.

The Canary Islands are also good value, with Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife all pricing their sparkling wine between £4.26 and £5.16 per glass.

If you're heading to Egypt, be prepared to pay a premium for your bubbles. At £13.35 per glass, it's the most expensive destination for prosecco or sparkling wine. Dubai and Antalya follow closely behind, both at £11.71 per glass.

Best value destinations for a week-long tipple

Malta emerges as the overall winner for a weeklong self-catering holiday enjoying beers by the beach and a few glasses of sparkling. A one-week stay in a three-star hotel, plus seven beers and seven glasses of sparkling wine, will set you back just £502.16 per person.

The Dalaman area in Turkey and Antalya follow closely, with total costs of £528.86 and £538.18 respectively. Spain's Costa Dorada and Portugal's Algarve round out the top five, both coming in under £550 per person for the week.

At the other end of the scale, Dubai proves to be the most expensive destination overall. A weeklong stay with the same drinking habits will cost you a whopping £1,029.29 per person. Cancun in Mexico is the second most expensive at £875.80, while Gran Canaria is the priciest European destination at £689.80 per person.
