Holidaymakers across Hampshire and the South have exciting new travel options for summer 2025 as TUI Airways returns to Southampton Airport with weekly flights to Palma de Mallorca.
After a 15-year absence, TUI’s comeback provides convenient access to the Mediterranean, with flights perfectly timed to coincide with Marella Cruises’ summer itineraries, allowing travellers to pair a Majorca beach getaway with a Mediterranean cruise.
Starting from 27 May 2025 and running every Tuesday until 20 September 2025, these flights make it easier than ever for families, couples and cruise-goers to access sun-soaked adventures straight from their local airport.
The announcement comes as a welcome boost to Southampton Airport, especially following British Airways’ withdrawal from the airport earlier this year, affecting routes to popular European destinations.
With TUI’s return, travellers now have a fresh link to the Med without the hassle of travelling to larger airports.
The return of TUI Airways follows Southampton Airport’s recent runway extension, allowing it to accommodate larger aircraft and broaden its destination offerings.
The addition brings the number of regional airports TUI flies from up to 24, double the number of rival Jet2. Travellers across the South will be hoping this signals the start of even more flight options from Southampton, bringing more holiday destinations within easy reach.
TUI UK’s Director of Aviation Planning Karen Switzer said: “We are extremely excited to return to Southampton Airport to reconnect travellers with the vibrant corner of the world that is Palma. We understand how important it is for customers to have access to flights from their local airport. We look forward to welcoming customers on board from May next year and taking them away on their dream Majorcan holiday”.
