Salou is stuffed with nightlife venues. One of the most popular on the circuit, Chaplins (Carrer de Falset) has an entertainment line-up that includes tribute acts parroting everyone from Beyoncé to Westlife, as well as a regular hypnosis show. For the latter, audience participation is part and parcel of the experience so you may well find yourself under a spell on stage.
There is also the House of Illusion (Calle Penendes Edificio Pino Alto B), a candlelit theatre where magic, comedy and mind-reading shows take place. Head there for the early evening show and you can grab dinner at the same time, with food and entertainment all wrapped up into one neat little ticket price.
Sometimes, after a long hard day of doing absolutely nothing except toasting yourself on the beach, venturing out can feel like too much effort. Luckily, you don’t have to go far at all. Many of the shore-side chiringuitos (small, makeshift beach bars) are great for enjoying the sunset with a cold one. Some are open until 1am.
There are plenty of outdoor bars with terraces too, should you want an al fresco sundowner or two.
Brits missing home will enjoy the more familiar side to the nightlife here.
There are plenty of English and Irish pubs that show sport, do karaoke and have pool tables. You can even carry on your Brit-themed evening with a visit to one of the many nightclubs. Follow the crowds to Kiss (Avinguda de Carles Buigas), which rocks to a different theme until the early hours every night of the week.
