There's no doubt that Las Vegas is all about indulgence - in food, cocktails, shopping, entertainment and, of course, the casinos which light up the city...
This is one destination where everyone is made to feel as if they are a celebrity. Park up your rental car outside one of the many glittering, glamorous hotels such as the Venetian, Luxor, Mirage, Bellagio or MGM Grand and you'll feel as if you're in another world. It's no wonder that drive-thru weddings are so popular here.
The city has grown so much in recent years that a hire car makes a fantastic way to fully explore all that is on offer. There are a huge range of attractions in the city once you have exhausted the gaming tables and slot machines. You can become the detective in a CSI experience or drive desert racing sun buggies, enjoy a weightless flight simulator or visit the animals at the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, or become a rock star for the day or climb the Stratosphere Tower.
Every hotel seems to come complete with its own experience, shows, shopping malls and entertainment complex either attached or within striking distance.
With great weather for much of the year, you can of course spend the day lounging around the pool, relaxing in a spa, playing golf or tennis or visiting one of the many shooting ranges to practise your best shot.
You can pick up your rental car from McCarran International Airport (LAS) or a range of downtown locations and begin to explore the Las Vegas area. On a practical note, make sure to do your research before choosing a rental car so that you opt for one which suits your needs. Airport pick-ups are generally the easiest way to collect your car and make transfers to your hotel quick and easy.
Both within the city and outside of the main strip there is plenty to see and do using your cheap Las Vegas car hire...
Make sure to take a drive along the famous Strip, which is lined with the world's most incredible and luxurious casinos and make your way towards the colour, glitz and glam of Freemont Street. During the day, don't miss out on a trip to the beautiful Arboretum landscaped gardens.
Heading out of the city you'll easily find the Mojave Desert where you can take part in everything from sightseeing to a huge range of outdoor pursuits, including kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking and horse riding, as well as water skiing in the nearby lakes.
The Grand Canyon is the perfect place to begin as this ancient natural formation is breath-taking in its enormity. If you haven't got time to visit this area, you can always drive to Death Valley, located just outside the city, or maybe head to Red Rock Canyon only 20 miles or so from the city. Hoover Dam is also a great location to visit in your rental car, with great views of the Colorado River and Lake Mead.
In the winter months you could even combine a city break in the city of sin with a ski or snowboard holiday at the Mount Charleston Ski and Snowboard Park, only 40 or so miles from the city centre.
