Nerja Consider this Costa del Sol resort for a cheap Easter getaway.
Looking to get away over Easter? With the holiday falling late this year, it’s the perfect time to jet off for some pre-summer sunshine.
For families who need to travel during the school holidays, the Easter break can be a good way to slash your getaway costs. And with Easter landing in late April in 2025, there’s spring sun aplenty in affordable destinations not too far from home.
To help you decide where to go, we’ve crunched the numbers to reveal the cheapest destinations for a seven-night family holiday this year.
Majorca is number one for value this Easter, with seven-night family holidays coming in at an average of just £467.44pp. You’ll find excellent deals across the island, especially in family favourites like Cala d’Or and Port d’Alcudia.
Away from the resorts, hiring a car will help you tick off some of the island’s highlights, from its beautiful beaches to the stunning Tramuntana Mountains.
If you’re hoping for waterparks, April is the opening season for Majorca’s best. Near Magaluf, Katmandu Park reopens on 3 April and Western Water Park on 16 April, while Hidropark in Alcudia will open its doors on 11 April.

Family interest in Sardinia has grown since 2023 – and with prices from £469.14pp this Easter, it could be a great time to discover just why it’s getting so popular.
The cheapest holidays can be found in the island’s beguiling cities, so it’s definitely one for adventurous families keen to get out and explore (a hire car will help).
Kids will love getting up close with marine life at Cala Gonone’s aquarium as well as exploring the spooky Grotta di Nettuno caves, which drip with dramatic stalactites. There’s also the Trenino Verde railways that cross the island, and horse-spotting opportunities in the Giara di Gesturi park.

Spain and its islands always have lots of choice for budget-conscious families. If you’re sticking to the mainland, the Costa Blanca is the cheapest spot overall this year.
Expect a seven-night holiday to set you back around £473.15pp on average, with good-value options popping up where there are plenty of hotels (read: Benidorm). While it’s not quite waterpark season here – Benidorm’s Aqualandia reopens in late May for example – there’s still fun to be found at places like the Terra Natura zoo.
Benidorm not your bag? Torrevieja often has low-cost options, and quieter Calpe has enough to entertain kids of all ages.

You’ll get more heat if you travel further this Easter; in Gran Canaria, temperatures can hit highs of 23C in April and the longer days mean you can enjoy at least 8 hours of sun.
Average family prices for the Canary Island hover around £525.59pp, though there’s a decent range of cheaper options if you’re flexible. Gran Canaria’s classic resorts, such as Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, are good starting points.
Stay in Maspalomas and you probably won’t need to spend much more on activities if you don’t want to. Its dune-backed golden beach is huge and perfect for building sandcastles in the sun.

With the perfect combination of great beaches, family-friendly attractions and excellent value, Malta is a top choice this Easter. It ranks fifth, with seven-night family holidays around £536.91pp this year.
It’s another good one for almost-guaranteed pre-summer sun, with highs of 20C and little chance of rain. Make the most of it on beaches such as the aptly named Golden Bay or hop on the ferry to Gozo for a kid-friendly day out that still has plenty of sand time (try Ramla Beach).
As for where to stay, look to the north of the island. Resorts like St Paul’s Bay and Mellieħa have easy access to the National Aquarium and Popeye Village.

The Costa del Sol is perennially popular with families after a fly-and-flop break, and you won’t do better than the laidback and budget-friendly resorts of Fuengirola and Nerja.
Mini Attenboroughs will enjoy meeting furry friends at Bioparc Fuengirola and getting up close to butterflies at the Mariposario de Benalmádena, while little explorers might prefer the beaches and caves at Nerja.
There’s also bustling Malaga. It’s considered the gateway to the region, but it also has enough to entertain older kids too, including art galleries, shops and buzzy café-lined plazas.
Seven-night Easter holidays this year cost around £540.90pp on average.

Families seeking slightly higher-end experiences should consider Rhodes, which has four- and five-star stays offering affordable deals across all board bases. Average prices for a seven-night family break to the Dodecanese island are just £559.79pp.
Two resorts for your radar are Kolymbia and Kalithea, both on the east coast. They’re relaxed alternatives to the busier Faliraki and Rhodes Town but close enough to enjoy their attractions.
You could easily spend a day wandering the pretty, cobbled streets of Rhodes Old Town, browsing shops and stopping for ice-cream. Anthony Quinn Bay, just outside Faliraki, is one of Rhodes’s best beaches. A day trip to Lindos and its acropolis is also worth it.

Lanzarote is absolutely stunning, with a mix of gold- and black-sand beaches and jaw-dropping volcanic landscapes made for high-octane exploration. And a week-long holiday here this Easter can be yours for around £560.49pp.
When you’re not spending time soaking up the sun (it can reach 24C in April), consider visiting the Cueva de Los Verdes lava caves or taking the ferry to the quiet little island of La Graciosa in the north. If you’re looking for waterpark fun, Aqualava in Playa Blanca is open year-round and Aquapark Costa Teguise opens on Saturday, 12 April.
Lanzarote’s best-known resorts are also its best for value, so look out for deals in Costa Teguise, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca.

As one of the cheapest all-inclusive destinations for families this summer, it’s no surprise that Turkey’s Dalaman area also has great-value deals earlier in the year.
Our research covered all hotel star ratings and board bases, with a seven-night break coming in at £590.53pp on average. That said, you’ll almost certainly find well-rated all-inclusives for less, so it’s worth comparing a range of departure dates and airports close to you to get a great deal.
Try Marmaris for an affordable family-friendly break that includes sunbathing, boat tours and jeep safaris across rugged terrain in Marmaris National Park.

For families looking at Portugal, the Algarve is an excellent pick. Average costs are £593.71pp for seven nights this Easter and you’ll find many of the best package holidays for the beloved resort of Albufeira.
The beaches are the obvious draw in this region known for its golden coastline, but beyond the sand, kids will enjoy a day out at the Zoomarine oceanographic park or the indoor waterpark at Aquashow.
The Ria Formosa Natural Park, in the Algarve’s east, is also close by. Visit to spot wildlife, burn energy on easy-to-navigate walking trails and sunbathe on protected, pristine beaches.
