It’s no secret that Spain is a go-to choice in Europe for a budget break – and knowing the holiday destinations where your money will go furthest shouldn't be a secret either.
From the mainland to the Canaries and Balearics, we've run the numbers at TravelSupermarket HQ to reveal eleven of the cheapest holiday resorts in Spain this summer. Here’s where to find a dose of Spanish sunshine for less.
Known as the gateway to the Costa Brava, Blanes is a great introduction to the beautiful beaches and historic towns that this costa is well known for. It’s a family-favourite for a laidback seaside stay, often quieter than its resort neighbours, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar.
It’s great-value, too. Taking top spot as the cheapest Spanish resort, seven-night summer holidays in Blanes average just £445pp. Any spare budget is best spent getting stuck into activities – a trip to the Botanical Gardens and watersports at S'Abanell beach are highlights.
Close on Blanes’ heels, Calpe averages just over £480pp for a seven-night summer holiday this year.
Formerly a fishing village, the coastal town is now a thriving beach resort packed full of budget-friendly hotels, restaurants and bars that cater to both families and couples. Traditional Spain is still easy to find in the Moorish Quarter of the old town and local fish market (Lonja de Calp).
It lies 20km (12 miles) north of Benidorm on the Costa Blanca. Look for the giant Ifach rock that towers over the resort’s harbour – at 332m (1,089ft), you can’t miss it.

ppBrimming with fantastic beaches, nightlife and culture, Lloret de Mar is one of Costa Brava’s most popular resorts. Throw in the fact it's the third cheapest resort in Spain to visit, averaging £513pp for seven nights, and it’s no surprise that it draws in the summer holiday crowds.
To help your money go even further here, consider a self-catering apartment and look out for free activities – admiring the Gothic Parish Church of Sant Roma or lounging on the sun-kissed sands of Playa de Lloret won’t cost you a penny.

ppMajorca slides in as the first Spanish island entry, with a seven-night summer holiday at the east coast resort of Cala Bona coming in at around £528pp.
Small but buzzing with cafes, shops and family-friendly hotels, it's an idyllic choice for an easygoing getaway, where you can spend your days relaxing on the beach and going for tranquil swims in the calm, shallow sea.
Bike rides along the promenade, golf and trips to the Drach Caves are all on offer, too.
Tossa de Mar is the third entry for the Costa Brava, easily the cheapest holiday region in mainland Spain and the cheapest destination for all-inclusive summer getaways.
The picturesque resort is instantly recognisable thanks to its 12th-century castle that flanks the southern end of the resort’s beach. Below it, a medieval old town charms with cobblestone streets, local shops and tapas restaurants. Above, an 100-year-old lighthouse has great views over the Med.
A week-long summer holiday in Tossa de Mar averages £533pp – just £20pp more than neighbouring Lloret de Mar.
The Canary Islands also know how to keep it cheap. Stay in Gran Canaria’s capital, Las Palmas, and you’ll find a great range of budget accommodation options, ranging from four-star hotels to self-catering apartments. You can expect a seven-night summer getaway to cost around £536pp.
Some of the city’s best attractions are free, too. With over 2km (1.2 miles) of soft, golden sand and wonderfully calm water due to an offshore reef, Las Canteras beach is a must-visit for swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing.
In the old town, take a leisurely stroll around Plaza de Santa Ana and admire the 16th-century cathedral.
From one Canary Island to another, Puerto de la Cruz jumps in as the seventh cheapest resort to visit in Spain this summer (at £547pp on average).
This quieter Tenerife town is a hit with couples seeking a romantic getaway. It’s not hard to see why, with its majestic black-sand beaches and pretty palm-lined streets.
Don’t miss the exotic trees and flowers on display at the botanical gardens or a trip to Lago Martiánez – a complex of sea-water swimming pools designed by César Manrique.
Not tempted by Tenerife? Average prices for a seven-night summer getaway to Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol also come in at £547pp.
Known for its 8km-long (4.9 miles) beach, you’ll find ample space to soak up that summer sunshine. Hit the waves for parasailing or water skiing to cool off, or relax with a cocktail at one of the promenade’s bars.
History buffs will want to make a trip to Sohail Castle – the 10th-century fortress is now used as an open-air music venue, while bargain hunters can shop ‘til they drop at Miramar Shopping Centre or the Saturday flea market.
Packed with cheap hotels and inexpensive restaurants, Gran Canaria’s largest resort, Puerto Rico, is a great place to snap up a holiday deal – you’re looking at £563pp on average for a seven-night summer escape.
Not only is it cheap, but its range of activities makes it a firm favourite with families, too. Kick back at Puerto Rico beach, try out the inflatable obstacle course at Amadores Fun Park or sail out in search of dolphins on a wildlife-spotting boat trip.
You’ll get up to 12 hours of glorious sunshine a day on the Costa Dorada in summer. And Salou’s long, sandy beaches are perfect for making the most of it.
A variety of accommodation means budget-friendly stays are easy to find (seven nights average at £573pp), plus you won’t be short on places to shop and eat along the lively beach boulevard.

ppCaleta de Fuste rounds out the list as one of the cheapest Spanish resorts for a summer break.
Just 7km (4 miles) from the airport and ticking all the holiday boxes (think sun-loungers on the beach, bars and restaurants aplenty and a long list of leisure activities), this purpose-built resort town is a popular choice in Fuerteventura.
On the beach, watersports are high on the itinerary – head to Playa El Castillo for windsurfing or scuba diving. Off the sand, there’s two 18-hole golf courses, a cinema and even a bowling alley.
On average, a seven-night summer holiday in Caleta de Fuste costs £577pp.
